I'm no power user but I have a bit of experience with Linux. I fell in love with the way Sabayon put their distro together and felt I should give back to the community. HP made no new freinds with this laptop but since I invested the money in it I might as well give it a shot.

== What works out of the Install: ==
The Install, which I must say worked without a hitch (Unlike Ubuntu which required a 'napic' command to boot), Installed smoothly (Great Job to the support staff on that one!!).
The Video, USB, keyboard, mouse, 3d AIGLX, Power management (when enabled), DVD RW, Ethernet ,as I know of, all worked automagically. It plays DVD's, Beryl worked with absolutely no (You heard it) NO extra configuration.VGA Out works.

#Wifi appears to be working out of the box but this is the third Install because of Wifi. What I did to get the Wifi to work is leave it switched off for the install. (Thats all I did differently) Then I switch it on after the system is fully booted up and it works. I tried using the 'bwml6.inf' drivers from the Vista Install and 'ndiswrapper' it didn't work. But bcm43xx does (see the bcm43xx guide on this wiki for more information) (I know, weird huh?). I even tried Linuxant.
#.The quick play bar isn't working as of yet.
#.I don't even know what programs to use to try and get the web cam working.
#. Haven't tested the microphones.
#. Haven't tested the modem.
#. Haven't tested the TV out.
#. Other than the quick bar on the Docking station, it appears to work.
