Sabayon Linux is based on the source-based distro named [http://www.gentoo.org/ Gentoo]. Gentoo is a highly customizable distro and, using Gentoo's excellent development techniques, we have created a pre-configured distribution with the tenets of Performance, Versatility, and Stability. Please see the [[Introduction]] and [[Sabayon Linux]] sections in this Wiki, and we stress highly that you need to learn how to use the package managers [[Entropy]] and Portage ([[HOWTO: The Complete Portage Guide]]). We do stress the use of Entropy rather than Portage, but you will need to understand Portage also.
