Installing a Printer in Gnome
Occasionally, adding a printer through the default Gnome settings will fail without error. If this is the case, you can use the system-config-printer utility from Red Hat's printer administration tool.
Open a terminal then switch to the root user:
> su
Now use Entropy to download the printer system configuration tool:
# equo install system-config-printer-gnome --ask
This should download system-config-printer-gnome package, as well as the dependencies system-config-printer-common and pycups.
Once the download and installation has completed, run the following command:
# system-config-printer
From here you should be able to add a printer with the add dialog.
