== Introduction ==
This page is dedicated to getting the Radeon X1300 working under Sabayon Linux with XGL and Beryl. This has been tested on a Dell Inspiron 6400 notebook. I cannot make any guarantees it will work anywhere else, but please add a line in the Working section if you have another laptop or desktop it works under.

== Installation Instructions ==

The following installation instructions worked for me and I hope they will work for you as well.

1. Log into console 1 (ctrl alt F1) as root.
2. Shut down X11.
<pre>/etc/init.d/xdm stop</pre>
3. Re-emerge the ati drivers.
<pre>emerge ati-drivers</pre>
4. Tell X11 to use the ATI openGL.
<pre>eselect opengl set ati</pre>
5. Re-emerge the XGL package.
<pre>emerge xgl</pre>
6. Run aticonfig via.
<pre>aticonfig --initial --input=/etc/X11/xorg.conf</pre>
7. Emerge desktop-acceleration-tools (for the shell)
<pre>emerge desktop-acceleration-helpers</pre>
8. Disable AIGLX.
<pre>/sbin/aiglx-setup disable</pre>
9. Enable XGL.
<pre>/sbin/xgl-setup enable</pre>
10. Restart X11
<pre>/etc/init.d/xdm start</pre>
